Hon. Anne de Burgh was born on 18 December 1818.2 She was the daughter of Ulysses Burgh, 2nd Baron Downes of Aghanville and Maria Bagenal.1,2 She married John Henry Scott, 3rd Earl of Clonmell, son of Thomas Scott, 2nd Earl of Clonmell and Lady Henrietta Louisa Greville, on 27 April 1838 at Kilberry Church, County Laois, IrelandG.1,2 She died on 22 November 1872 at age 53.2
From 27 April 1838, her married name became Scott. After her marriage, Hon. Anne de Burgh was styled as Countess of Clonmell on 27 April 1838.

Ulysses Burgh, 2nd Baron Downes of Aghanville was born on 15 August 1788.1 He was the son of Thomas Burgh and Anne Aigion.2 He married, firstly, Maria Bagenal, daughter of Walter Bagenal and Elizabeth Black, on 20 June 1815.1 He married, secondly, Christopheria Buchanan, daughter of James Buchanan of that Ilk, on 4 August 1846.1 He died on 26 July 1864 at age 75, without male issue.1
He was given the name of Ulysses Burgh at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carlow between 1818 and 1826.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to Kings George IV and William IV between 1825 and 1837.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Queensborough between 1826 and 1830.1 He gained the title of 2nd Baron Downes of Aghanville on 2 March 1826. He held the office of Representative Peer [Ireland] between 1833 and 1863.1 In 1848 his name was legally changed to Ulysses de Burgh.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1860.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Tower and Sword of Portugal (K.T.S.)2 In 1865 On his death, his title became extinct.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

Robert Ker, 3rd Earl of Roxburghe was born circa 1658.1 He was the son of William Ker, 2nd Earl of Roxburghe and Jean Ker.1 He married Lady Margaret Hay, daughter of John Hay, 1st Marquess of Tweeddale and Lady Jane Scott, on 10 October 1675.2 He died on 8 May 1682, lost at sea in the ship Gloucester off the coast of Yarmouth.1
