     Captain Thomas Greene was born in 1799.¹ He was the son of Joseph Greene and Hannah Townsend.^2,1 He married Elizabeth Anne MacCarthy, daughter of Denis MacCarthy, on 29 January 1842.¹ He died on 18 August 1875, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Denis MacCarthy lived at Mosgrove, County Cork, Ireland.¹

     Elizabeth Anne MacCarthy was the daughter of Denis MacCarthy.² She married Captain Thomas Greene, son of Joseph Greene and Hannah Townsend, on 29 January 1842.¹ She died on 28 March 1889.¹
     From 29 January 1842, her married name became Sweet.
