     He was an amatuer cricket player for the Marylebone Cricket Club.1 He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1

     Elizabeth Murray was the daughter of Sir John Murray of Drumcairn.1 She married Francis Stuart, 7th Earl of Moray, son of Alexander Stuart, 5th Earl of Moray and Emilia Balfour, in September 1698.1 She died, without surviving issue.1
     From September 1698, her married name became Stuart.1

     Sir Peter Halkett of Pitferrane, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 June 1695.2,3 He was baptised on 22 June 1695 at Aberlady, East Lothian, Scotland.3 He was the son of Sir Peter Halkett of Pitferrane, 1st Bt. and Janet Halkett.2 He married Lady Amelia Stuart, daughter of Francis Stuart, 7th Earl of Moray and Jean Elphinstone.1 He died on 9 July 1755 at age 60 at North America, killed in action.2
     He was given the name of Peter Wedderburn at birth.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stirling Burghs [Scotland] between 1734 and 1741.2 He fought in the Battle of Gladsmuir in 1745.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1745.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Halkett, of Pitferrane [N.S., 1697] on 20 March 1746.2 He gained the rank of commander in 1754 in the 44th Foot, in America.2
